Meira Paibis urge Government to revoke transfer order

Thoubal, April 05 2025: Several Meira Paibi Lups have urged the Government to revoke an April 1 order which transferred woman police officer Priyadarshini Laishram to Jiribam as the district's SP.

The transfer of the women SP to a sensitive place like Jiribam amid the violent conflict is highly condemnable.

The order must be revoked, said Meira Paibi leaders, during a press meet at Khangabok New Market, Thoubal district today.

The press meet was attended by members of Meira Paibis of Thoubal Athokpam, Khangabok and Wangjing.

Priyadarshini's transfer to Jiribam came shortly after she was posted as SP of Kakching district.

If the Government respects women, then the transfer order must be revoked immediately.

She must be posted in other districts, which would be more convenient for a woman officer during the violent conflict, said the Meira Paibis.
