Imphal, May 19 2024: Paona Bazar and Thangal Bazar shop owners' community has announced a 24-hour bandh of the market areas from Sunday midnight.

Issuing a press release in this regard, all major and small shops in the market area unanimously decided to call the 24-hour bandh from the intervening night of Sunday and Monday, in view of the various inconveniences faced by the shop owners.

According to a report, a meeting of the Bazar community was convened on Sunday, where the recent incidents of violence against non-Manipuris by motorcycle-borne miscreants after dusk were condemned.

The meeting also condemned the continuous monetary demands served on shops from different sections.

As such, all shop-owners in the Bazar area decided to down shutters on Monday, the report added.
