Free medical camp for fiscal year 2024-25 underway

Imphal, May 11 2024: Urban Primary Health Centre, Sagolband under the supervision of Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh on Saturday commenced the first Free Medical Camp for the fiscal year 2024-25 .

A release by PRO to the MLA stated that the initiative stands as a cornerstone programme of the National Urban Health Mission (NUHM), aimed at providing essential healthcare services to the community.

It informed that the camp was successfully conducted in the previous year at various locations across Sagolband constituency.

It continued that the inaugural camp was held at Ebudhou Moirang Apokpa Shanglen, Thokchom Leikai of Ward no 8, witnessing active participation from around 110 locals.

The initiative will be conducted across 12 locations within Sagolband, exemplifying a commitment to comprehensive healthcare coverage across the constituency, it added.

The Free Medical Camp offered a spectrum of healthcare facilities, including free diagnostic tests, free medicines and crucial screenings for early detection of cervical and breast cancer etc., it mentioned.

This holistic approach to healthcare underscores the commitment of Urban Primary Health Centre, Sagolband and MLA Shri RK Imo Singh to ensuring the wellbeing of the community, it maintained.

During the event, Manipur Peoples Club, Thokchom Leikai president RK Kiran Club expressed his gratitude to MLA RK Imo, the medical team of UPHC and the locals for their enthusiastic support, it also stated.

He also acknowledged the pivotal role played by media in disseminating information about the camp and encouraged continued collaboration for the betterment of public health, it added.
