Thoubal, October 09 2024:
Not ruling out possibility of Helping Hands Group (HHG) Academy warden Sagolsem Lenin (26) being murdered, the JAC formed in connection with the warden's death has urged authority concerned to probe the case and initiate legal actions against those responsible.
Warden Lenin, who was from Leirongthel Pitra under Heirok assembly constituency in Thoubal district, was reportedly found dead hanging in the Academy's campus around 9:45 am Wednesday.
Along with an impromptu sit-in protest staged later in the day, JAC Against the Suspicious Death of Sagolsem Lenin at Yairipok Keithel was constituted to pursue the case, deliver justice to Lenin and punish the culprits, if any.
Speaking on the sidelines, JAC convenor Sagolsem Gambhir informed about the school authorities intimating a local that Lenin was found hanging.
Soon after receiving information, Lenin s family asked Academy's authorities not to touch the body.
However, on reaching the school, they discovered that the body had been lowered/removed, making it impossible to determine whether he died by hanging or not.
As such, Gambhir called upon authority concerned to uncover truth behind the suspicious death and to take legal action against those responsible.
The body will not be claimed till justice is served.
Additionally, if the responsible parties are not identified by October 11, intense protest will be launched in collaboration with civil society organisations, meira paibi groups, clubs, etc..
