Imphal, March 08 2025: The 143rd Battalion CRPF, Lamphelpat, commemorated International Women's Day 2025 with a vibrant event centred on the theme "For All Women & Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment." The event, held on Saturday, brought together officers, jawans, spouses of CRPF personnel, local residents, and dignitaries to honour women's achievements and advocate for gender equality.

International Wushu player and coach Yumlembam Sapana Devi, who attended the occasion as chief guest, highlighted the indispensable role of women across all sectors, asserting, "Women today are excelling in every field, and their capabilities are beyond question" .

Drawing from her own journey, she stressed the need to prioritise education, economic independence, and social equality for women.

"Empowering women to overcome challenges will enable them to contribute even more meaningfully to society," she added.

Ravinder Sharma, commandant 143 Bn CRPF, underscored the historical significance of women's contributions, referencing the pivotal role of women in the 1917 Russian Revolution.

He called for fostering self-reliance among women, while acknowledging the critical support of female family members in the success of CRPF initiatives.

He also thanked the attendees for their participation.

Mehandi and Rangoli competitions were also held to mark the occasion.
