This year, the college organised a month-long campaign (March 20-April 20) under the theme "A Happy Mouth is a Happy Mind," featuring a mass rally, cyclothon, free dental camps, poster and slogan competitions, skits, and awareness sessions targeting diverse communities.
The Department of Paediatric and Preventive Dentistry led the initiative with exceptional coordination and results.
Faculty members, students, and staff from all other departments also actively contributed to the collective effort.
The achievement was made possible under the guidance of RIMS director Prof.G Sunil Kumar Sharma, RIMS Hospital medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh and Dental College principal Prof B Praveen Reddy, highlighted the Media Cell, adding that their leadership and continuous support were instrumental in planning, coordination, and community engagement efforts.
On the other-hand, RIMS Department of Nursing organised one-day Health Awareness Programme on Monday at the General OPD Complex to educate patients and their attendants on hospital rules, hygiene, waste disposal, and respectful communication to enhance care and cooperation.
In his address, Prof N Sanjib emphasised the hospital's mission to serve the sick and highlighted the shared responsibility of the staff and the public in maintaining cleanliness and ensuring quality care.
He commended the Nursing Department for the initiative and encouraged attendees to follow hospital protocols for better outcomes.
The awareness programme included lecture sessions on hospital rules by chief nursing officer N Ibemhal, demonstration on hand hygiene and waste disposal by infection control nurse Mutum Monica Chanu, and discussion on patient-health-care worker relationships led by senior nursing officer Th Binodini Devi.
