11 insurgents netted, 13 bunkers dismantled, arms recovered

Imphal, April 04 2025:
Security forces conducted search operation in different areas on Thursday, apprehended 11 members of different armed outfits, destroyed 13 bunkers set up by Kuki militants and recovered weapons and ammunition.
According to Manipur police control room, two active members of the proscribed KCP (Noyon) identified as Chingakham Lala Meitei alias Heishingba (35) and Leikhuram Henju Meitei alias Henjulaba alias Laba alias Ayangba (36) from Keirao Wangkhem Mamang Leikai on Thursday.
One .32 pistol with four rounds and two mobile phones were seized from them.
Two active cadres of proscribed UPPK identified as Laishram Birjit Singh (39) of Keishampat Thokchom Leikai and Chungkham Milam Singh (31) of Naoremthong Khullem Leikai were also arrested from Sanjenthong area by Manipur police.

Charging both of involved in extortion from private schools, the control room said two each two-wheelers and mobile phones, and five ID cards were recovered from the duo.
Similarly, security forces arrested an active cadre of KCP (PWG) identified as Angom Ibo-chouba Singh alias Lanchaba alias Punshiba (49) from Moirang Khoiru Mayai Lambi Ward no.10 involved in extortion from local businesspersons, cement go-down and government institutions, besides recruitment of cadres for the armed outfit.
Security forces arrested two active rfiembers of proscribed PREPAK identified as Sandam Gandhi Meitei alias Ningjaba (45) and Khangembam Jilangamba Meitei alias Panao (40) .
Gandhi was arrested from Langthabal Kunja Keithel Macha and Jilangamba from Haoreibi Mayai Leikai community hall.
Both were involved in extortion from government offices and schools.
Moreover, an active cadre of SOREPA identified as Thongam Roshan Singh (35) of Khongjom Khebaching was arrested from Uningkhong area under Khongjom police station.
He was involved in extortion from saw mills, brick farms, oil pumps, shops, stone crushers and contractors.
An active member of KYKL from Awang Potshangbam identified as Maibam Naocha Singh (37), who was involved in extortion from college teachers since December 2024 has been arrested, along with recovery of a two-wheeler, wallet, Aadhaar card and Rs 2,400 cash.
Moreover, security forces arrested an active member of RPF/PLA identified as Yendrembam Athoiba Meitei alias Leingakpa (24) of Chingarel Tezpur Mayai Leikai and Okram Heorjit Singh (31) of Phaknung Sangomshang Litan Makhong, who is an active member of KCP (City Meitei).
Meanwhile, security forces conducted search operation in different areas on Thursday and recovered one each 7.62mm SLR, .303 rifle with magazine, SBBL gun, long range Pompi bomb (modified), two each 9mm pistols and short range Pompi bomb (modified), three each SBBL, .303 ammo and tear smoke shell soft nose ammunition, and five medium range Pompi bomb (modified) among others from S Mongpi hill range under New Keithelmanbi; one each 12 Bore single barrel rifle and heavy bipod mounted Pompi gun 45 mm calibre, two Burmese electronic IED (5 kg), three each heavy bipod mounted Pompi gun 60 mm calibre, heavy bipod mounted Pompi gun 55 mm calibre, 11 each Pompi bomb 60 mmcalibre and fm stabilise Pompi bomb 45 mm calibre, 23 Pompi bomb 75mm calibre and 21 Pompi bomb 45mm calibre among others were recovered from Twichin village and Saibol village under Yaingangpokpi police station.
Moreover, 13 bunkers set up by Kuki militants were also destroyed, it added.
On the other hand, Indian army and Manipur police conducted joint search operation on Friday morning at Khamaran Mamang Ching area of Khongampat and recovered one each SLR with magazine, .303 rifle with a telescopic sight and silencer, .177 rifle and 9mm carbine magazine, two each pistols with magazines and 5.56 mm INSAS magazines, and three 7.622 mm LMG magazines.
Several tactical gears were also recovered during the search operation.
