Senapati, April 30 2025:
The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Enquiry Committee of Laii village has formally submitted a complaint to the Senapati deputy commissioner concerning false reporting and the incomplete execution of the JJM project in the village.
Notably, Laii village in Senapati district has long endured one of the most acute water shortages in the region.
Despite this critical need, the JJM projectpurportedly completed by Exotic Contractors Private Limitedhas failed to achieve its intended results.
Residents have strongly contested the claims of project completion, asserting that such statements are entirely misleading.
In reality, villagers continue to struggle to access even a single bucket of water, making daily survival extremely difficult in the absence of the promised household tap water connections.
Recognising the gravity of the situation, the village general body convened a meeting on April 9, 2025 and constituted an enquiry committee to investigate and address the matter.
The committee's findings confirm that the implementation of the JJM project in Laii is significantly incomplete and fails to serve the public interest, directly contradicting official reports of its completion.
The committee requested the deputy commissioner to provide the original work order, the Detailed Project Report (DPR), and the project's abstract cost.
It further called for an impartial and thorough investigation into the matter.
To ensure the fair delivery of essential public services, it is imperative that Exotic Contractors Private Limited be held responsible for the project's failure.
The committee then urged the authorities to take prompt and appropriate action and deliver justice to the affected community.
