FESOK alleges wrongdoing by Govt school headmasters

Imphal, August 18 2022: While contending that Yourabung Aided High School and Chingtam Government High School attached students from private schools which are not recognised by BSEM, Federal Students' Organisation, Kangleipak (FESOK) has urged BSEM and Education (S) to take up necessary actions against the headmasters of government schools which entertain students from unrecognised schools.

In a release, FESOK secretary publicity S Prity informed that the organisation visited Yourabung Aided High School, Imphal East and Chingtam Govt High School, Yaingangpokpi on August 10 as a part of their continuous school survey.

During the visit, it was found that Yourabung Aided High School has 15 students from Class V to VIII and 96 students from two unrecognised schools attached to the school in Class IX and X.The two unrecognized schools are Young Pioneer Academic, Uyumpok (27) and Master Sanky English School Irilbung (69).The government school has three science teachers and one arts teacher but without science laboratory room and equipment.

On the other hand, Chingtam Govt School has a total number of 86 students and 16 students of Little Bird School (unrecognised) appeared Class X examination by attaching to the government school and five students are presently attached in Class X, she confided, while adding that there is dearth of Home Science and English teachers, furniture and science equipment in the school.

It is unfortunate to witness unrecognised private schools in the state, she said, while asking the parents to be cautious of such schools.
