JAC hails arrest of murder suspect

Thoubal, July 14 2024: The Joint Action Committee against Ransom & Brutal Killing of Th Ibomcha and Khangabok community expressed gratitude to the authorities for apprehending Th Bhupendra Singh, a suspect in the murder of Th Ibomcha Singh on June 18 .

Ibomcha was found dead few days after abduction by an armed group while his son Th Bhupendra Singh was rounded up by Manipur police on Saturday in Mumbai.

A public meeting convened by the Committee was held at Khangabok New Market on Sunday during which JAC member Moirangthem Modhusudon thanked government authorities including Chief Minister N Bi-ren, Imphal West SP, Singjamei SDPO, investigating officer, OC and others for their efforts in ensuring swift justice for the victim.

The gathering also adopted several resolutions, including suitable action against Th Bhupendra and accomplices involved in the conspiracy to kill Th Ibomcha, banishing Bhupendra from Khangabok and extending the same treatment to anyone harbouring him, guaranteeing the safety of Ibomcha's surviving family members and providing compensation to the bereaved family, along with government job to Ibomcha's remaining two sons.
