MNPF celebrates 10th Raising Day

The armed Manipur Naga People's Front (MNPF) reportedly celebrated its 10th Raising Day at its general headquarters, battalion headquarters and stations on March 11.According to a statement of MNPF, the Raising Day function at general headquarters was attended by Front's chairman John Francis Kashung, defence secretary Ahao Jajo and home secretary SP Kanmi as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
The statement informed that chairman John Francis Kashung wished the entire people of Manipur a prosperous 2023 while delivering his speech at the event and thanked the almighty God for allowing the outfit to celebrate the 10th Raising Day successfully.
Before the formal function, the MNPF flag was flown at half mast and the chairman paid homage to all the cadres who laid down their lives during the course of liberation movement.
He then extended revolutionary greetings to all the people of Manipur and revolution ary groups of WESEA region.
In his speech, chairman John Francis Kashung said that ever increasing number of outsiders has captured economic opportunities of the people of Manipur from the lowest to the highest level.
Giving example, the MNPF chairman said that 80 percent of road construction works particularly national highways have been grabbed by companies/agents from outside and 100 percent of works under NDP scheme allotted to outside companies though it could be easily executed by local contractors.
