Khoijuman village protection committee formed

With an aim to extend help to those people who have been affected by the communal violence in the state and also to save the territorial integrity of Manipur while also protecting Khoijuman village, a new committee, named Village Protection Committee Khoijuman has been formed on Thursday.
The committee comprising 50 members was formed after a public meeting held in Khoijuman where senior citizens, intellectuals, meira paibi and clubs took part.
S Ibopishak, T Nobo and Kh Sobita have been respectively appointed as chairman, secretary and treasurer of the committee while S Shantibala Devi, Th Sundari and B Dhani Devi as president, secretary and vice president of women wing of the committee respectively.
Speaking in connection with the formation of the committee, chairman S Ibopishak said that the meeting also took a number of resolutions which included - the committee will contribute all possible help in protecting the territorial integrity of Manipur and that the committee will lend support in all the activities taken up by the village volunteers who are safeguarding the Meitei villages from attack by armed Kuki militants.
He also urged the state government to arrange measures to enable the displaced people to stay at their respective places at the earliest.
