Meitei Leepun told to prove charges against Babloo

Imphal, October 03 2024: Kwakeithel Apunba Meira Paibi Lup has asked Meitei Leepun to substantiate with evidences within seven days allegations levelled against human rights activist Babloo Loitongbam of siding with the Kukis.

In a release, Lup president Sobita Soubam asserted that no one can dominate 'us' if people unite instead of pursuing divisive policy.

Stating that the Lup members went to Babloo's place on September 22 to enquire about accusations made by some members of Meitei Leepun followed by another visit on September 28, she informed that subsequent to meeting family members of Babloo and hearing their side of the story, it adopted several resolutions.

Regarding Babloo's alleged contention that the conflict was started by Meetei, she demanded Meitei Leepun to provide video footage, clipping or newspaper clippings which can substantiate the same as well the prove that Babloo is averse to wellbeing of the Meetei, he received money from Kukis and the meeting convened along with Manipuri Meitei Association, Bengaluru with Nagas and Kukis to illustrate Meetei genocide against Kukis.

Moreover, she reminded that Babloo had already clarified and apologised to the public about his statement of burning down all the churches in the valley.
