Imphal, August 21 2025:
Wangoi MLA Kh Loken has declared that a 'unique' new popular government, dedicated to promoting communal harmony and prioritising welfare of the youth, would soon replace the current President's Rule in Manipur.
The NPP legislator made the assertion while inaugurating a community hall at Paobitek Mamang Leikai, constructed with funds from his Local Area Development (LAD) scheme on Wednesday.
Apart from MLA Loken, the inauguration function, organised by Paobitek Development Forum (PDF), was also attended by Kshetrigao MLA Sheikh Noorul Hassan, PDF president Md Sanatomba.
Addressing the gathering, MLA Loken said the state's development has been lagging as successive governments accorded priority to personal interests but a new popular government likely to be formed in near future will have no leader who seeks self-idealisation.
"The new government which will replace the present PR administration will be a unique one prioritising sacrifices for youth and communal harmony," he exuded, adding that the present young like-minded MLAs have decided to work with dedication to do something good for future generations.
While contending that the present PR administration was not brought by elected leaders but due to compelling situation and time, MLA Loken said it was self-declaration of unqualified leadership that a people's leader tendered resignation.
In his speech, MLA Noorul Hassan said peace and normalcy have returned gradually under the present PR administration but it is unfair for democracy that the state could not have popular government despite having elected representatives.
"MLAs of every constituency came out to do something good for the state but the past government left the MLAs in dishonourable situation," he added.
