Shiv Sena calls for securing NH 37

Shiv Sena Manipur president M Tombi has stated that since authorities concerned are turning a blind eye to proposals for deploying highway protection force along the national highways in Manipur sector, Shiv Sena along with other likeminded persons will start providing security cover along NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam road).
Speaking to media persons at Shiv Sena's Bapupara office on Sunday, M Tombi noted that the damage caused to nature in the hill areas of the state has started affecting all sections of the society.
While stressing that Kuki leaders should seriously implore means to hold talks for resolving ethnic conflict lingering for over a year now, Tombi suggested that central and state governments take steps to regulate armed village volunteers that have sprung up in state to protect their villages.
Demanding both central and state governments to inform the public on when the ongoing crisis will end, he also pointed out that it will be wrong to continue governing without resolving the conflict.
Tombi continued that sincere measures should be taken to identify non-locals to ensure that their entry into the state without valid permit.
Mentioning that the recent heavy rains and hailstorm that hit the state has affected thousands of people apart from damaging standing crops of farmers, he commended chief minister N Bi-ren for visiting the affected areas and providing relief.
