Minister Nemcha takes part in Garib Kalyan Sammelan

Textiles, commerce & industry minister Nemcha Kipgen on Saturday visited Kangpokpi town and participated in the 'Garib Kalyan Sammelan' press conference organised by BJP Sadar Hills district.
'It is a privilege and a blessing to witness our Prime Minister Modi's most fulfilling eight years of journey in 'Desh Seva' where inclusive development of all the sections of the society, especially the poor and needy have been given priority," said minister Nemcha Kipgen.
In Manipur as well, the minister said, under the leadership of chief minister N Biren, many developmental schemes and projects for all sections of the society and missions such as "Go to Hills", "Go to Village", "Meeyamgi Numit", etc., were introduced apart from the popular "War on Drugs" campaign in the state.
Nemcha said that the Garib Kalyan Sammelan in Kangpokpi district aims to identify the needs of the people and implement all government welfare schemes effectively leaving no one behind.
She also discussed various inclusive-developmental works taken up by the PM Modi-led BJP government in the last eight years and interacted with the district and Mandal's BJP leaders on how to make welfare schemes available to all the beneficiaries.
Speaking at the media briefing, BJP Sadar Hills president Thangjamang Kipgen highlighted the various development works taken up by the BJP government.
He said that the BJP government has been serving the poor and marginalised by providing 80 crore people free food grains under PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, 1.22 crore houses sanctioned under PM Awas Yojana (Urban), 2.3 crore houses sanctioned under PM Awaj Yojana (Rural), 11.22 crore toilet constructed under Swachh Bharat Mission and 6.2 crore new houses provided tap water connection in the last 3 years under Har Ghar Nal Se Jal Yojna while loans were disbursed to 29.6 lakh street vendors under PM SVANidhi Yojana.
In healthcare and pandemic management, 3.2 crore people received free treatment up to R 5 lakh under Ayushman Bharat Yojana, more than 18 crore Ayushman cards were issued, and more than 190 crore free vaccines have been administered under the world's largest vaccination drive, 8,727 Jan Aushadhi Kendras have been provided affordable medicines, 15 new AIIMS inaugurated in last 8 years, around 200 new medical colleges were opened in last 8 years, and medical colleges being constructed in every district while Health and Wellness centres are being opened in every block.
To ensure farmers' welfare, 11.3 crore farmer families have been provided Rs 1.82 lakh crore under PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi, 37.52 crore applications insured under PM Fasal Bima Yojana, 3.4 lakh crore credit issued to more than 3 crore Kisan Credit Card beneficiaries, more crops brought under the MSP regime and MSP hiked to 1.5 times the production cost, an initiative of neem coated urea stopped its black marketing, 23 crore soil health cards issued, a subsidy of 1,200 provided per bag of DAP fertilizer, and record procurement of Rabi and Kharif crops were done at MSP.
He continued that under Nari Shakti For New India, 9 crore LPG connections were provided to women under PM Ujjwala Yojana, 25 crore women linked with banks through Jan Dhan accounts, and 8 crore women entrepreneurs connected through 75 lakh+ SHGs while 80% of loans under Standup India are given to women, maternity leave extended to 26 weeks, women were given equal status in the armed forces and access to Sainik Schools, and more than 68% of beneficiaries under PM MUDRA Yoiana are women.
He also said that the National Education Policy 2020 has been introduced to transform education, more than 1.32 crore youth trained under PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana, and 24% increase in the number of Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) while there has been 80% increase in the number of medical seats.
Apart from various other developmental schemes, projects and activities were undertaken during the eight years of the BJP government in the centre, it has also signed peace agreements with various insurgent groups to end decades-old violence and there has been a 4% reduction in rebellious activities and 60% reduction in armed forces casualties in the North East states while India's longest rail-cum-road bridge Bogibell and world's tallest railway girder bridge on Jiribam-Tupul-Imphal railway line was also built, apart from constructing railways and roadways to connect the region to mainstream development.
The BJP Sadar Hills president urged all the mandal presidents to work dedicat-edly for the welfare of the people in their respective mandals and implement all welfare schemes and projects effectively leaving no one behind.
He also informed that in connection with the world environment day, the BJP Sadar Hills along with its mandals will embark on tree planting on Monday at 10 miles.
Meanwhile, the BJP Sadar Hills president said that the BJP government is also forming a District Development & Monitoring Committee through which the local representatives along with prabharis and district level officers will work together thereby collecting data from every, village to find out the possibility of every household or village coming up with one product each for sustainable livelihood.
