Hindi fortnight/week celebrations conclude

The closing ceremony of Hindi Fortnight Celebration-2024 organised by Official Language Cell of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) was held on Monday at the RIMS Banting Hall with director G Sunil Kumar Sharma as the chief guest.
RIMS Hospital medical superintendent professor N Sanjib Singh and Manipur University Department of Hindi head professor Akhilesh Kumar Shankhdhar also attended the valedictory programme, according to RIMS PRO.
In his address, Prof G Sunil emphasised the importance of Hindi as it is the national language and serves as a crucial mode of communication medium for connecting the diverse staff and students from various parts of the country.
He also highlighted the significance of Hindi as a language of unity and culture.
The programme marked the culmination of a series of activities held during the fortnight including various competitions aimed at promoting the use of Hindi across the institution.
The event showcased the efforts made to enhance the linguistic unity and cultural understanding within RIMS, with participation from staff and students alike.
Prizes and certificates were also distributed to winners of various competitions held during the Hindi Fortnight celebration, said the PRO in a release, adding that the function was attended by RIMS dean (Academics), various heads of departments (HODs), chief administrative officer (CAO), finance advisor (FA), and other staff members.
On the other-hand, the Hindi Saptah programme organised by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Imphal Regional Office (RO) concluded on Monday at its auditorium with Manipur Hindi Parishad, Imphal general secretary and Government Hindi Teachers' Training College retired associate professor Dr A Brajakumar Sharma, CBC, Imphal RO head Dr N Reena and Chandel field exhibition officer Moirangthem Rustum as chief guest, functional president and guest of honour respectively.
Certificates along with cash prizes for different activities - 'Kabita Path', extempore speech, one-word meaning translation and essay competition were also distributed to the winners by the dignitaries.
