Manipur Govt.should pass a fresh bill to protect the indigenous communities of Manipur within fifteen days since it does not need to take three months to prepare or make the law, said former President of All Manipur United Clubs" Organisation (AMUCO) KT Rehman.
Rehman who spoke on the Iftar organised by Pangal Students" Organisation (PSO) at Faija Upper Primary School Ground, Hatta blamed the State Govt.for continuous influx of non-Manipuris in the state since a proper law which could protect indigenous people of Manipur do not exist.
Instead of passing a bill and withdrawing again Govt.should discuss carefully and pass a bill which will really protect the indigenous people, he added.
Urging the supporters of ILP not to get involved in any violence in the ongoing agitations ,the former AMUCO President also appealed to people of all walks of life not to call any bandh/general strike on the Id-ul-Fitr day.
