Imphal, September 01 2015:
Naga People's Organisation (NPO) along with SDWA, SDSA, eminent personalities, former officials of frontal organisations and others in Senapati District held a joint consultation meeting to discuss the three bills passed by the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The meeting deliberated on the bills and vehemently condemned the act of passing The Protection of Manipur People Bill, 2015; The Manipur Land Revenues and Land Reforms (7th Amendment) Bill, 2015 and The Manipur Shops and Establishment (2nd Amendment) Bill 2015 .
All the three bills "targeted" against the tribals of Manipur by the Government, said a press note issued by NPO General Secretary D Dailord Pao.
The meeting decided that tribal sitting Ministers and MLAs will be held responsible for any eventualities or consequences arising out of these three Bills, warned the organizations.
While condemning a certain remark made by an MLA, the press note stated that it was unfortunate that the people's representative would make such "such unbecoming statement in the August house" .
The meeting also condemned the armed forces for the violence in Churachandpur and extended solidarity and offered condolence to the
bereaved families.
