RIMS holds recognition ceremony, rewards staffers

Imphal, April 11 2025:
As part of the on-going Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 being observed at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS), Imphal, from April 1 to 15, a special awards distribution ceremony was organised to honour outstanding departments and personnel contributing to cleanliness and service excellence in the institute.
A release issued by RIMS informed that Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, joint secretary Elangbam Robert Singh distributed cash and certificates to winners of the cleanest Departments, best nursing officers, best employees, best housekeeping staff of RIMS, CRED and MSS in the presence of RIMS director Prof G Sunil Kumar Sharma.
Paediatrics Department, Radio diagnosis Department and Casualty Department were awarded cleanest department with Longjam Ojit Singh, Hemam Anandi Devi, Bliss Sekho, Yambem Surjalata, Wangkheimayum Jeena Devi, Nongthombam Anjali Devi, Ahongsangbam Merina Devi arid Toijam Martina Devi declared best nursing officers.
Laishram Lanngamba Singh, Mangilal Angom and RK Nomita Devi of RIMS hospital were awarded best attendant.
H Babita Devi, T Debnath and S Babita Devi of MSS were awarded best security/sanitary staff.
Maibam Anil Singh, Kwairakpam Premika Devi and Longjam Tanoubi Devi of CRED were awarded best house-keeping staff.
Haobijam Joykumar Singh, Tongbram Vidyananda Singh, Moirangthem Shantikumar Singh, Moirangthem Priy-obrata, Hijam Manekshaw and Laishram Chandramani Khumancha, System Administrator of the Administrative Block were awarded best staff.
The winners of the debate competition and Voice of Students held on April 7 on the occasion of World Health Day 2025 were also awarded with cash and certificates.
The first top three winners of the debate competition are Liklaileima Aheibam, Yohenbi Nongthombam and Bonney Thokchom of Ratankumar Memorial School.
The first top three winners of the Voice of Students competition are Kalpana Khangembam of Ratankumar Memorial School, Kiritika Nongmeikapam of KV No 1 Lamphelpat and Konsam Aloke of Ratankumar Memorial School.

Robert Singh praised RIMS for its sustained cleanliness efforts and stressed the need for community participation and institutional accountability to achieve the goals of the Swachh Bharat Mission.
He emphasised that a clean environment is everyone's responsibility and a true reflection of a responsible society.
"Everyone should take responsibility for maintaining a clean environment, as if it were their own business - because it is," he stated, urging individuals to take ownership and inspire a culture of cleanliness and care.
RIMS director Prof Sunil addressed the Swachhata Pakhwada award ceremony, applauding the institute's cleanliness efforts under the Ministry's guidance.
He highlighted infrastructure upgrades, awareness drives, and hygiene assessments, emphasising the theme "Swachhata is Everyone's Business".
He further urged collective responsibility and daily commitment to cleanliness, vital for healing, learning, and research, to make RIMS a model of hygiene.
The programme was held as a part of the Swachhata Pakhwada 2025 being observed in the institute as per the guidelines of the ministry with the attendance of RIMS medical superintendent Prof N Sanjib Singh and SAP/Kaya Kalp, RIMS nodal officer Prof Y Govindaraj Singh.
