10th edition of BBBP ends with football match

Kakching district administration in collaboration with the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) Cell, Kakching district programme office (DPO) on Saturday organised the closing function of the 45 days long programme marking the 10 th edition of the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' scheme.
As part of the closing function and to mark International Women's Day 2025, a U-18 Football Tournament was played at Yaisa Sports Arena, Kakching Turel Wangma, which was participated by four teams.
The final match was played between Green Team (Kha Football Academy, Keirak) and Yellow Team (Passion Team Kakching) with the former defeating the latter by 4-2 goals via penalty shootout, as the match had ended in 2-2 tie in the regular period of play.

Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of the essay writing competition which was held at Wabagai Higher Secondary School on March 5, as a part of the 10 th Edition of the BBBP scheme.
Around 80 students had participated in the competition under the theme 'Role of Education in Shaping a Woman's Life'.
The first position prize was presented to Priyadarshini Nongmaithem of Kakching Higher Secondary School; second position to Bernessa Laikangbam of Grace Cottage Academy Kakching and third position prize to Mayengbam Roshita Devi of Grace Reach Academy, Hiyanglam; while consolation prizes were given to Naorem Loyalembi Devi of Grace Cottage Academy and Moirangthem Angelina to Eureka Academy, Thounaojam for securing fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
The function was attended by ICDS Cell, Kakching DPO N Parango Singh; supervisors Salam Uma, M Bimola Devi and Rebita along with Women Football Academy, Kakching founder and social worker Yambem Surjit.
Similarly, District Sports Association (DSA), Kakching observed IWD 2025 by organising a girls football match, a release by DSA, Kakching general secretary M Nilo Singh said.
