DMU VC professor W Chandbabu feted

Kakching, April 10 2025: Malem Ngalhanba Lup (MANGAL), Hiyanglam-Wabagai and Literary and Sporting Organisation (LISPO), Hiyanglam-Wabagai felicitated newly appointed Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) vice chancellor professor Wahengbam Chandbabu at Hiyanglam Keithel shed on Thursday.

As part of the programme, simple gift and memento were presented to professor Chandbabu by MANGAL and LISPO.

Speaking on the occasion, professor Chandbabu highlighted the need for expanding community grooming/counselling in the changing education system to ensure students live a prosperous life.

As the present education system is completely different from the past, students must aspire and adapt to the ever-changing system to excel, he stressed, adding that teachers should recognise the talents and characters of students and guide them to the right path.

Chandbabu also observed that present education system lacks community grooming.

This needs to properly implemented and expanded in the local community level.

He also suggested that experts in various fields be it doctor, engineer, scientist, civil services or sports should form groups to provide guidance to students in their chosen field.

Professor W Chandbabu is the eldest son of Wahengbam Meghachandra and (late) W Jasumati Devi of Hiyanglam Awang Leikai.
