Imphal, June 06 2024:
Students of Dhanamanjuri University (DMU) on Thursday stormed the administrative block of the university demanding conduct of the delayed examinations and removal of the controller of examinations from his post at the earliest.
In this regard, Dhanaman-juri University Students' Union general secretary Takhelma-yum Dijen informed that the first and third semester examination of the varsity have been delayed since December last.
As such, the students have been demanding conduct of the pending examinations and removal of the examination controller who failed to execute his duties properly.
He then said that since the vice-chancellor in-charge, Gyan Prakash, came to talk to the students on the matter and assured of removing the controller of examinations while issuing an order to hold the examinations at the earliest, the protest has been withdrawn temporarily.
However, if the assurances are not translated into action, the students would resume their protest including shutting down the university, Dijen cautioned.
