Bank employees assaulted; TSA condemns

Kangpokpi, February 05 2015:
Two SBI employees including a Circle Auditor and another retired Sr.
Assistant of SBI were physically assaulted and robbed on Wednesday evening along National Highway
(HN) 2 .
The incident occurred at around 5:30 pm Wednesday evening when the three were travelling in an Astar Car bearing Regd.
No.ML05G-5867 heading towards Imphal.
They were stopped by five unidentified persons in front of MM Hotel at Pangaltabi under Sekmai police station and beaten severely.
All the windshields of the vehicle the three were travelling had also been completely damaged.
The three victims have been identified as M.Bikram Singh, Circle Auditor, State Bank of India from Imphal; Lenkhodeh Sitlhou, in-charge Cash Officer, SBI Sapormeina Branch and Nehkhosei Sitlhou, a retired Sr.
Assistant of State Bank of India both from Motbung.
Nehkhosei Sitlhou recounted that they were heading towards Imphal to drop the Circle Auditor Sapormeina after completion of Audit at SBI Sapormeina Branch at around 5:00 pm.
He said five unknown persons who were travelling in an i10 car stopped them at Pangaltabi and demanded Rs.2000 .
The retired Sr.
Assistant informed that after beating them severely, the miscreants started raining stones on the windshields of the vehicle and also took the vehicle key.
An FIR has been lodged at Sekmai Police station regarding the incident said the retired Sr.
Assistant.
Till filing of this report the culprits were yet to ascertained and apprehended.
Meanwhile, Thadou Students' Association Sadar Hills has condemned the incident in the strongest term.
Speaking to media persons at Motbung Lunmang Haokip, President TSA Sadar Hills said that the association condemned the incident in the strongest term and wants the authority to deal with such crime appropriately.
