Commerce topper, meritorious students honoured

DM College of Commerce Alumni Association on Sunday felicitated Aiena Naorem, daughter of N Biren Singh and N Ibemcha Devi of Kakching Ningthou Leikai, who secured the top position in the commerce stream of HSE 2024 conducted by Council of Higher Education Manipur.
Association members went to her house and handed over an amount of Rs 2,06,002 in recognition of her excellent performance in the examination and wished her success in her future endeavours.
Students of Kindergarten Montessori School, who secured high marks in class X,and XII examination of CBSE were felicitated and honoured alongside a prize distribution function held at the school's Takyel Kolom Leikai campus on Sunday.
The meritorious students were encouraged and presented prizes during the function attended by their parents and school teachers.
In his address, school principal Dr Longjam Dhaneswor expressed elation that students of the school secured high marks in this year's CBSE examinations and brought laurels to the school.
He also said that the present trend of some schools luring position holders with financial benefits is not a good sign for the society.
In Kakching district, students of Smart Universal Academy, Sekmaijin Khunou, who secured high marks in HSE-2024 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education Manipur were felicitated in a function held at the school on Saturday.
The felicitation function was attended by Academy chairman Khongkham Manglem as chief guest, secretary Konthoujam Kiran Singh as president and former head of Human Rights Department of Manipur University Dr M Sureshkumar and academy principal Dr Mayengbam Pishak Singh as guests of honour.
A total of 45 students of the academy including three who scored more than 80 percent marks in the HSE examination were encouraged and handed certificate of appreciation during the function.
Notably, a total of 45 students of the school appeared the HSE-2024 examination with 43 passing in first division and two students securing second division mark.
