Police arrests 4 KCP cadres on December 9

Imphal, December 12 2015 : Team of District Police Commando, Imphal West conducted frisking and checked in front of NILO Showroom, Uripok Khoisnam Leikai and nabbed one active member of KCP on December 9 .

In a statement, PRO Police Department RK Tutusana said that the apprehendee was identified as Hanjabam Dineshwar Sharma @ Dinesh (35), son of (L) H Jiteshwor Sharma of Brahmapur Thangapat Mapal.

He was coming on a Suzuki Access Scooter, grey in colour bearing Regd No MN-06SA/2289 which has been seized.

Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion from general public, private hospitals, schools and businessman in Imphal area.

One Suzuki Access Scooter and other incriminating articles were seized from his possession.

On his disclosure, another active member of KCP identified as Brahmacharimayum Rajmani Sharma @ Tomba @ Kanba (40), son of B Gaurababu Sharma of Uripok Khaidem Leikai was arrested on the same day from the Eastern Gate of DM College.

One Hero Honda Motor cycle bearing Regd No ML-05D/4493 along with other incriminating articles were also seized from his possession.

Further investigation revealed that, Brahmacharimayum Rajmani Sharma was involved in shooting of a non-local at Sagolband Bijoy Govinda on April 19, 2015 and it refers to case FIR No.133 (4) 2015 IPS.

On the his disclosure one 9mm pistol loaded with three live rounds and one air gun pistol were recovered from the bedroom of Oinam Chitan Kumar of Uripok Tourangba Leikai on the same day.

Investigation also revealed that, the above seized arms and ammunitions were handed over to him by one Khundrakpam Kanba Meetei (47), son of Kh Shyamkishore Meetei of LamshangTouthang Khunou.

Accordingly, Khundrakpam Kanba Meetei was also arrested from his residence on the same day.

A case had been registered at Imphal Police Station and investigation is going on.

Meanwhile, team of District Police Commando, Imphal East conducted cordon and search operation at some suspected houses of Itam Nungoi Khunou area on December 9 and arrested one active member of KCP (Paikhomba) organisation identified as one Laishram Binoy Singh @ Inao (33), son of L Koba Singh of Itam Nungoi Khunou from his residence.

Investigation revealed that, he is working as a Public Relation Officer of the said organisation and he was involved in extortion from Government offices including Manipur University and RIMS.

A case had been registered at Lamlai Police Station and investigation is going on.
