Imphal, February 08 2026: A new Manipuri feature film, "Laininghan Naoria Phulo", was officially released today at the Manipur State Film Development Society, Imphal.

The film, produced by Heigrujam Film Production, was directed by Rajen Leishangthem.

The release event was attended by several notable personalities, including Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha); Khangembam Rules Kuleswar, Chairman, Film Forum Manipur; and Dr RK Nayansana, former Chairperson, Manipur State Social Welfare Board.

Moreover, Gurumayum Ranjit Sharma's english poetry book, "The Spark", was officially launched today at the Oriental Club in Khongman.

The event, organised by the Manipur Kala Kendra, Imphal East, brought together prominent figures from the State's literary and academic communities.

The function was graced by Oriental Club president Hijam Prakasana Singh, noted critic & translator Ngangom Iboton Singh, eminent writer Bramacharimayum Achouba Sharma, and Prof A Nungshitombi Devi, retired Principal, DM College of Arts.

At the event, Dr Moirangthem Priyobarta Singh, retired Principal of Imphal College, provided a detailed review of the book.
