'Sagolband to get 24-hour safe drinking water'

Imphal, November 07 2026: Sagolband AC MLA RK Imo said efforts are on to make Sagolband the first Assembly Constituency in Manipur to provide safe drinking water 24 hours a day, with 99% of households already covered.

He was speaking at the inauguration of a 0.8 ML overhead tank and 0.2 ML emergency service reservoir at Sagolband Tera Amudon Akham Leikai on Saturday.

The project was built by PHED under the Manipur Water Supply Project, funded by the New Development Bank.

RK Imo said water connections have been given under AMRUT 2.0, and another overhead tank is under construction at Bijoy Govinda.

The new facilities will benefit over 4,000 households in and around IMC Ward No 7 .

PHED Chief Engineer Kirankumar Laishram said the department is working with the MLA to supply water to every household and sought public cooperation.
