Police rescue abducted man, arrest two accused

Imphal, April 05 2025:
Police on Friday successfully rescued one Laitonjam Dilip Singh (47) of Patsoi Part 4, who had been abducted by unknown persons earlier in the day.
Meanwhile, two cadres of Pambei-led UNLF, accused of being involved in the abduction, have been arrested.
The two cadres have been identified as Khundrakpam Rakesh Singh alias Thomba (30) and Khundrakpam Charles (25), both hailing from Nambol Phoijing Awang Leikai.
According to the press note by Manipur Police Control Room, a report was received that one Laitonjam Dilip Singh had been abducted by unknown persons in a white Bolero on Friday.
Based on the report, police acted swiftly and organised a cordon and search operation in Nambol Phoijing area.
During the operation, police arrested Khundrakpam Rakesh Singh and Khundrakpam Charles from the residence of one Khundrakpam Inaoton Singh in Nambol Phoijing Awang Leikai.
The team also rescued Dilip in the process.
They further recovered one Bolera used in the abduction, three mobile handsets, Rs 4,500 in cash and one voter ID card.
