CM distributes 93 offer letters under die-in-harness scheme

Imphal, September 21 2026: Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh today distributed offer letters to 93 candidates under the Die-in-Harness Scheme for the Land Resources Department.

The offer letters were distributed at a function held at the Civil Secretariat, Mantripukhri, Imphal.

Addressing the programme, the Chief Minister stated that the recruitment under the die-in-harness scheme is being taken up in accordance with the prescribed rules and guidelines to plug manpower shortage.

The State Government had earlier distributed offer letters to 37 eligible candidates for appointment with the Excise Department under the same scheme, he said.

He expressed confidence that the new recruits under the scheme will help the Land Resources Department clear pending works and improve its functioning.

While a normal recruitment takes time, the die-in-harness scheme helps address the immediate workforce requirement, he said, encouraging other departments to initiate pro-cesses for recruitment un- der the scheme.

Offer letters were also distributed to candidates at districts by respective Deputy Commissioners.

The programme at the Civil Secretariat was attended by Thokchom Kirankumar, Secretary, Land Resources Department; Administrative Secretaries of various departments.

Deputy Commissioners of various districts virtually attended the function.
