BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda Devi said that BJP is now the biggest political party in the world.
It is rather unfortunate that different political parties have been trying to blame BJP for the violent crisis which erupted in the State on May 3, 2023, she said.
The State's integrity was already compromised before the BJP Government was formed in 2017.A large number of illegal immigrants were found settled in the State, Sharda said.
Because of certain steps taken up by the BJP Government in the interest of the future generations, the BJP Government faced many challenges, she said.
Considering the future security of the State, BJP faced all the challenges boldly, she added.
Saying that BJP Manipur Pradesh is committed to identifying and repatriating all illegal immigrants, Sharda said that BJP will fight every challenge to the integrity of Manipur and the party will always act in the interest of the people.
Many BJP MLAs including Kh Joykisan have been providing all kinds of assistance to the people whose houses were burnt down and displaced, she said.
Although BJP lost the Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat in the last Lok Sabha election, the votes secured by the BJP candidate were 10 per cent higher than the votes received by previous BJP MP Dr RK Ranjan.
It was a clear testimony of the people's support to BJP, she claimed.
Recently, around five lakh people enrolled in BJP.
People enrolled in BJP because they believe in the party, she said.
The BJP Manipur Pradesh president said that Central leaders have been told in clear terms that no delimitation can be carried out in Manipur under the prevailing situation.
As desired by the people, the Central leaders have been told to take up the delimitation exercise only after the census operation scheduled in 2026, she said.
BJP MLA Kh Joykisan said that the party's legislators and other leaders are now facing an acid test on how far they can sacrifice for the State.
Saying that the violent crisis besieging the State has been de-escalating gradually, Joykisan expressed hope that peace will return to Manipur shortly.
He said that BJP has been taking a pivotal role in all efforts to bring unity among the different communities of Manipur.
He went on to claim that several development works were implemented in Thangmeiband AC in spite of the violent crisis besieging the State for almost two years.
As a part of the BJP foundation function, sewing machines were distributed to eight residents of Thangmeiband AC.
BJP Manipur president vice-president N Nimbus, Scheduled Tribe Morcha president Lanjagai Kamei, BJP Thangmeiband Mandal president Mutum Rajendro and Hindustani Samaj president Madhav Singh were also present at the function.
