Imphal, June 19:
The proscribed RPF has alleged foul play in the entrance test for M Phil course in Manipur University's Political Science Department held on March 11 this year.
The outfit asserted that many unqualified candidates were selected to the MPhil course.
Briefing media persons at a location in Churachandpur district, a spokesperson of the outfit's Department of Communication and Publicity stated that the irregularity in the entrance test for MPhil course in Political Science Department was detected after similar case was unearthed in Manipuri Department under the outfit's special initiative to make Manipur University a clean and free zone.
Observing that selection of unqualified candidates is a misfortune for the whole society, the spokesperson conveyed that the outfit took serious note of it.
On behalf of the RPF, the spokesperson appealed to MU authorities and Heads of Department to avoid irregularities while selecting students for different courses and to select only qualified candidates.
Nevertheless, there would be no restriction upon those unqualified candidates already selected for MPhil course considering their career, conveyed the spokesperson.
Decrying exertion of pressure upon sincere and upright MU teachers from some quarters to select some unqualified candidates, the outfit construed that such activity was only leading the Manipur University towards a more corrupt and deplorable situation.
The spokesperson further appealed to all organisations and individuals concerned to abstain from exerting undue pressure on the authorities of Manipur University.
Any body desirous to confirm whether there were irregularities or not in the entrance test for M Phil course in Political Science Dept can check from answer scripts of the same test which is now in the possession of the outfit, he added.
Meanwhile, the proscribed RPF has banned Sharma Bros Scientific Instruments Co, Paona Bazar and M/s Max House MG Avenue Imphal from doing any supply in Manipur for good.
The two firms were authorised by the Biotechnology Dept to supply scientific equipment/materials in Manipur University.
However, on investigation by the outfit based on relevant documents, the two firms made no supply even as Sharma Bros had taken Rs 7,04,238 and Max House Rs 3,05,700 from Manipur University.
