A consultative meeting was convened by president of Naga People's Organisation (NPO) on June 14 at Senapati district headquarters to discuss the present situation and future course of action of NPO regarding the move to remove Deputy Commissioner Nidhi Kesarwani, IAS from Senapati district.
According to a statement issued by NPO general secretary Simon Chawang, the meeting attended by elders and leaders including representatives from Dimapur, Kohima and Imphal discussed minutely and agreed that the present course of agitation is in the right perspective and should be followed to its logical conclusion.
Regarding the habit of taking opinion to the press, the meeting advised the NPO to forgive the past mistakes, but would take stringent action henceforth against any individual or subordinate bodies who rush to the press without first consulting all avenues of component of tribe bodies, Simon informed, adding that the meeting concluded with vote of thanks from the chair.
