Demand for ILP continues with sit in protests

Even as the State Govt has resolved to withdraw the Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers (MRVTMW) Bill 2015, sit-ins were staged at different parts of the State demanding implementation of Inner Line Permit System in the State today.
Women folks of Yumnam Khunou under the aegis of Women's Empowerment Association, Women Social Welfare, Students Club and Gold Star Club held a sit-in-protest at Yumnam Khunou Lainingthou Puthiba Community Hall demanding the State Government to implement Inner Line Permit System in the State.
Heikak Mapal Awang and Makha Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup also staged a sit-in-protest at the locality supporting the State wide movement for enforcement of ILPS.
It was reported that locals of Sawombung, Tezpur, Sambei, Sairem, Wairee, Phaknung, Sangomshang, Yorbung, Yorbung Khunou, Nungoi, Itham Nungoi, Kharathon, Lamlai Chalou, Kameng Khunjao, Leimakhong Mapal, Telou Chana, Nongada, Oksu, Nongdam, Nongpok Kakching and Nongren held demonstrations demanding immediate implementation of ILPS in Manipur to save the indigenous populace.
Meanwhile, the Yaipha Nupi Lup Awang Potsangbam held a sit-in-protest and burned the effigy of Chief Minister O Ibobi at Awang Potsangbam Khunou Lamkhai for his inability to bring out a Bill similar to Inner Line Permit System and save the native population.
Women folks of Khurai Konsam Leikai held a sit-in-protest at Senjam Lampak and Khurai Konsam Maning Leikai Apunba Meira Paibi Lup also demonstrated a protest for implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
Meira paibis of Wangkhei Ayangpalli Leima Keithel Apunba Nupi Lup also held a sit-in-protest along Ayangpalli road.
The Nongpok Leingak Apunba Nupi Lup, Wangkhei Meihoubam held a sit-in-protest and also held a protest march from Meihoubam Lampak to Andro Parking raising slogans to implement ILPS in Manipur.
They also demanded the authority concerned to give befitting punishment to security persons involved in the killing of a student on July 8 .
Wangkhei Thambalkhong Sabal Leikai Nungthil Chaibi Mahila Mandal also staged a sit-in-protest demanding immediate implementation of ILPS in Manipur.
They also burned effigies of CM and other Ministers demanding their resignations for their failure to implement ILPS in Manipur.
Meetei Pangal ST Demand Committee also held a sit-in-protest at Hatta showing their support in the ILP movement in the State.
At Lalambung Pung Makhong the Khwai Lalambung Makhong Nisha bandh Lup also held a sit-in-protest.
Locals of Irom Pukhri Mapal and three localities in and around Uripok Sakhi Devi school held a mass sit-in-protest.
Women Welfare Organisation of Tera Sapam Leirak organized a sit-in-protest demanding the State Government to bring a solution to the ILP issue.
At Patsoi Part-II, locals of Pamyal Mamang, Maning and Makha Leikai Apuba Meira Paibi demonstrated urging the State Government to implement ILPS in the State by burning the effigies of Chief Minister O Ibobi, Deputy Chief Minister Gaikhangam, Social Welfare Minister AK Mirabai and other Ministers for their alleged failure to implement ILP in Manipur.
The Nightingale Nursing Institute located at Porompat also held a candle light vigil to show their respect to the departed soul of Robinhood who died on July 8 by observing two minutes silence.
Sit-in was also staged by womenfolk of Nagaram at their locality demanding the implementation of ILPS.
A rally was organised by local women of Kangla Sangomsang.
The rally was held from Kangla Sangomsang to Sajiwa Jail Crossing.
Ithai Modern Civilisation Club, Ithai Khunou Nupi Samaj Chaokhat Lamjing Lup, IB Road-Kumbi Meira Paibi organised a torch rally yesterday.
The rally began from Ithai Khunou Lamlong bazar and ended at Kumbi Bazar.
Slogans demanding implementation of ILPS and protection of indigenous people, punishment for personnel involved in the killing of a student and withdrawal of anti-people Bill were raised during the rally.
They also demanded the resignation of all MLAs, according to a statement.
Apunba Meitei Leima Meira Lup (AMIL), Nongchup Maikei held a rally yesterday besides observing a two-minute silence to pay homage to the late Sapam Robinhood.
The rally began from Khumbong bazar.
Around 2000 people took part in the rally, according to a statement.
AMIL will also stage a sit-in protest at Khumbong bazar tomorrow.
Oinam Sawombung Youth Development Club and Oinam Sawombung Apunba Meira Paibi Nupi Lup have organised a torch rally demanding withdrawal of MRVTMW Bill yesterday.
A sit-in protest was staged at Pandon Keithel, Chingtham Leikai to demand the enforcement of ILPS in the State.
The sit-in was organised by Chingtham Leikai Nupi Chaokhat Lup, Chingtham Leikai.
Sit-in protest was also held at Khurai Thoudam Leikai.
A silent rally was held by various school students of Thoubal at Kairembikhok today.
