Kwatha Nongpok Ningthou and Ema Panthoibi haraoba would be observed for five whole days this year.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club today, publicity secretary of Kwatha Nongpok Ningthou Panthoibi Enat Thougal Lup, Takhellambam Biren said that the celebrations would be observed from May 19 to 23 and appealed to the people to attend and support the event.
He further appealed to the authority concerned to take up steps and meaisures to preserve and develop the declining cultural and traditional celebrations and events.
Biren pointed out that out of the 75 clans living in Kwatha, only 23 clan still observe the traditional cultures and religions while the rest have converted to Christianity.
