Phairen Panchami rituals observed at Gwarok Mahadev

The annual ritual ceremony of Phairen Panchami was observed with religious fervour on Friday at Nongpok Taarang Saaraba shrine, popularly known as Gwarok Mahadev, located at Yairipok Kekru Gwarok Hill in Thoubal district.
Held every year on the fifth lunar month of Phairen, the sacred occasion drew hundreds of devotees hailing from different parts of the State, who thronged the shrine to offer prayers for peace, harmony and prosperity.
Kekru Ideal Progressive Committee (KIPC) secretary, Thangjam Nakul Meitei expressed gratitude to the people of the State for their participation and prayers aimed at bringing peace and prosperity in the State.
He also acknowledged the support extended by the personnel of Yairipok Police Station and the CDO team for ensuring security and the safety of devotees.
Appreciation was further extended to members of the Kekru Yairi Club and Kekru Development Youth Club for their cooperation, and to the medical team of Kekru Sub-Primary Health Centre for providing necessary medical assistance during the event.
