Arms, ammo seized, poppy plantation destroyed

Imphal, November 20 2025:
Security forces recovered a variety of arms and ammunition from the hill range of Urangpat under Yaingangpokpi police station today.
The recovered items one pistol with an empty magazine, one tear gas gun, one country made bolt action rifle, one country made .22 rifle, three tear smoke shells, 11 live rounds of ammunition of various calibres, 12 7.62mm empty cases and 13 empty cases of 9mm, said a police control room (PCR).
Security force also arrested three drug dealers, all currently residing at Hatta Gollapati following NDPS cases registered at Tengnoupal police station yesterday.
The arrestees have been identified as Ibemma (46) of Minuthong Tellipati, Md Afzal (28) of Porompat Muslim Road and Shahabuddin (51) of Yairipok Tulihal Awang Leikai.
From their possession , Rs 2 lakh in cash, 91 empty bottles used for carrying brown sugar, six empty containers, five keys, three Aadhaar cards, three PAN cards, one election card, two smart phones, one bank passbook and one driving license.
A combined team of Central and State security forces destroyed 10 acres of poppy cultivation at Songlung village in Kangpokpi today.
