Foundations hail new Chief Minister

Imphal, February 08 2026: The Sangai Trust Foundation and Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup congratulated Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh on assuming office during a courtesy call at his Singjamei Yumnam Leikai residence today.

Led by Sangai Trust Foundation managing trustee Salam Prasanta Singh, Leima Chanu Nawa Tengbang Lup founder president Prof S Bhagyabati Devi and former president Thokchom Renu Devi, the delegation expressed hope for renewed peace and stability under the new leadership.

The delegation also submitted a memorandum to the CM seeking urgent attention towards the restoration of peace and communal harmony in the State.

The memorandum highlighted the pressing need for the safe, dignified, and timebound resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs), strengthening of law and order, and formulation of a comprehensive long-term policy framework to ensure sustainable peace and social cohesion in Manipur.

The groups also assured full cooperation for unity and prosperity across communities.
