College students protest teacher's transfer

Imphal, April 05 2025: Students of Mayai Lambi College on Friday staged protest at the gate of the college, against the delay in sending replacement of a teacher transferred from the College.

During the sit-in, the students shouted slogans and held placards inscribed "Don't transfer teachers without reason" and "Dispatch required teachers at earliest".

Speaking on the sidelines, College Students' Union finance secretary Phusam Alam Khan described as unreasonable the transfer of a teacher of Economics Department when the Department is already facing shortage of teachers.

In this regard, a memorandum was submitted to the Education director and Commissioner on March 27.However, there has been no response from both.

As such, he urged for sending the replacement teacher within 48 hours failing which the College would be put under lock and key indefinitely.
