Fitting tributes paid to Jananeta Irabot on his birth anniversary

Kakching/Thoubal/Bishnupur, September 30 2024: The 128th birth anniversary of Jananeta Hijam Irabot was commemorated on Monday under the aegis of Jana Neta Irabot Ningshing Lup in Kakching, where floral tributes were offered to his statue at Irabot Park.

The Grace Cottage Cultural and Educational Development Foundation (Grace Cottage Academy), Kakching also celebrated the occasion at the academy during which the students were retold the life-tales and contributions of Jananeta Hijam Irabot, along with various other activities.

In connection with the commemorative event, a cleanliness drive was also conducted at the Library and Information Centre, Kakching, by members of the library and regular readers.

Meanwhile, Citizens Association for Rural Development (CARD), Wabagai led by its president Huidrom Keshwarjit celebrated the day at Wabagai Yangbi Panchayat community hall with those gathered offeringfloral tributes to the portrait of Lamyanba Hijam Irabot.

Kanglei Leishem Pathou Kha Pana Keirak also organised the birth anniversary of Hijam Irabot at Keirak, with UFO secretary general Y Meira-ba Angom and social worker Elangbam Iboyaima as chief guest and president respectively while Keirak Meira Paibi president Mayengbam Thourani and secretary Loitongbam Binoshakhi were the guests of honour.

The celebration functions were also organised by Keirak United Development Association (KUDA), Khunggang Shemgat Shagatpa Lup Lam-jao, and Lamjao Apunba Meira Paibee Lup, along with the Peace Keeping and Protection Committee Lamjao.

It was also held at Hijam Irabot Memorial Public School (HIMPS), Umathel, as Lilong United Clubs (LUC) organised a cleanliness drive in areas under its ambit.

At Utlou, Mangalleibi Village Level Federation, under the aegis of the Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM), conducted a day-long social service camp with participation of 138 members of 13 self-help groups of wards 3 and 4 under Utlou GP .
