Sit in protest staged

A sit in protest was staged by The All Manipur Sound Service Association (AMSSA) against the alleged monetary demand made by a militant group to the organisation.
Staging the demonstration at Keishampat Leimajam Leikai Community Hall, the association has conveyed that it is not capable of affording the money demanded by the organisation concerned.
Speaking to media persons, president of the association, Ph Shasikanta claimed that a militant organisation allegedly demanded a sum of Rs 1 lakh from AMSS A, one month earlier.
He stated that the association would not be able to provide the monetary demand as the association is set up for name sake.
Pointing out that their standard of economy is dependent one how frequently their sound system and services are borrowed, he added that AMSSA is functioning from whatever little amount comes from unpredictable services.
Explaining the plights of the association, he stated that the association is operating by acquiring loans and buying few sound systems and equipment and even the said equipments are not borrowed or used everyday.
He alleged that the organisation concerned had threatened to resort to violence if the association fails to cooperate.
He further appealed to the concerned organisation to revoke its demand considering the
grievances of the association.
