Aid to stranded trucks

A joint team of All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union and Surface Transport Eco and Environment Society Nagaland, ledby Maimom Anil Meitei (general secretary, All Manipur Road Transport Drivers and Motor Workers Union) and Bipin Sophy (secretary, Surface Transport Eco and Environment Society Nagaland), distributed relief materials and aid to the truck drivers who have been stranded after the Imphal Dimapur road sank near Naga Hospital.
The team distributed rice grains and dais as well as medical supplies to around J 23 drivers of Imphal bound trucks which are stranded in the area till date.
On the other hand, the joint team also met Nagaland PWD Chief Engineer (National Highway) Vikishi Yepthomi and urged him to expedite the repair work of the damaged road.
According to the CE, the road may take around a week to become fully functional.
