E-Challan drive for traffic violators launched at Thoubal

Thoubal, January 29 2025:
The Thoubal district police, led by SP Rakesh Balwal (IPS), today launched a special drive using an e-challan system for traffic violators along National Highway and State Highway.
The drive carried out by Traffic Control Police, Thoubal at Thoubal DC gate today detained various riders without helmets and made them pay the fine through e-challan.
Speaking at the launch, SP Rakesh Balwal and Additional SP (Law and Order) Thoubal, N Suraj stated that the system will allow traffic violators to pay fines online.
The e-challan system will enhance transparency and boost efficiency in traffic management.
The NIC State Unit Imphal, Programmer, Athokpam Yaikhomba said, before traffic violators were booked through manual challan and faced the problem of losing the records.
However with the launch of e-challan, it will reduce workload and will also be easier to track and manage the records.
Meanwhile, a training programme on e-challan was also held today at NIC VC Room organised by NIC Thoubal.
