Imphal, October 26 2026:
All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association has appealed to concerned authorities to suspend the No School Bag Day (Saturday) programme from this academic session and allow normal classes in view of loss of academic hours due to various incidents in the State.
In a release, the association said students have lost considerable study time due to different disturbances in State, affecting their learning.
It requested that No School Bag Day be discontinued for this session and normal classes be conducted on Saturdays.
It also appealed to allow schools to conduct normal or extra classes on Sundays if needed, stating that this would help compensate to some extent the loss of classes and knowledge that students have suffered this year.
The association also appealed to parents to keep watch on children while going to school in view of the law and order situation and cooperate for the welfare of students.
It further appealed to different organisations and departments not to use students in agitation programmes and departmental programmes to avoid disturbance to the teaching-learning process, as far as possible.
It appealed to public and concerned authorities to value the limited academic time available in a year and support steps taken by association.
