Bid to evict Lei Ingkhol residents unacceptable: MLA

Imphal, September 21 2025: Wangkhei AC MLA Th Arunkumar has stated that any move to evict residents of Lei Ingkhol for the expansion of the Manipur High Court is unacceptable.

In a show of solidarity with the residents, the MLA participated in a sit-in protest held at the community hall of Lei Ingkhol today.

Addressing the media during the protest, Arunkumar stated that the Manipur Government, which is currently under suspension, has been actively working to prevent the eviction of Lei Ingkhol residents, emphasizing their right to remain at their homes.

He stated that efforts are underway to meet the Governor and other relevant authorities to address the issue and advocate for the residents' cause.

Meetei Leepun leader M Pramod also expressed solidarity, stating that the organization will continue to provide all possible assistance to the residents of Lei Ingkhol to prevent the eviction.
