Manipur University mourns Dr S Keshorjit

Imphal, September 08 2026: Manipur University held a condolence meeting at its auditorium Tuesday to mourn the demise of Dr Sorokhaibam Keshorjit Singh, Assistant Professor (Stage-II), Manipur Institute of Management Studies (MIMS), who passed away on September 6 .

He was 55 .

Born March 1, 1971 at Oinam Awang Leikai, Nambol, he joined the University on December 23, 2019 .

Vice-Chancellor Prof RK Hemakumar Singh described his death as a significant loss, recalling him as sincere and dependable.

Registrar Prof M Premjit Singh assured all possible help to the family and said support under die-in-harness provisions would be examined.

MIMS Director Prof Ch Ibohal Meitei recalled his journey from the inaugural MBA batch (1995-97) to faculty.

Vice Chancellor, DM University Prof W Chandbabu Singh, MUTA president Ksh Narayan Singh, student Strela Thounaojam Luwang and alumni also paid tributes.

The gathering observed two-minute silence and offered floral tributes.
