Thoubal, February 08 2026: A one-day tree plantation programme was conducted today at Chengei Ching Ima Emoinu Complex located at Waithou Chengei Ching today.

Organised by the Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup, Waithou, the programme was attended by Uttra Sanglen Sana Konung Angom Ningthou Angom Poireiton, Pukhralba Thokchom Ibungohal Meitei; UCM former president Yumnam Nabachandra; Thoubal College Assistant Professor Dr Laishram Jelshyam; Advocate and Director, Human Rights Law Network, Manipur Meihoubam Rakesh; Sana Konung Ahallup Lakpa Advocate Puyam Tomcha Meetei; Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup president Wangkhem Ibochou Meitei; treasurer Asem Tombi Meitei and others.

Speaking in this connection, Mutum Raja Meitei, member, Chengei Ching Emoinu Thougal Lup, Waithou said that the efforts to save the sacred site of Ima Emoinu has led to financial assistance from various quarters.

With this help, the complex is undergoing upgradation currently, he said.

Saying that people continue to offer assistance, he expressed happiness at the continued support from the public.

Today's programme was undertaken as a beautification effort and marks the third tree plantation initiative.
