Imphal, October 26 2026:
General secretary of Kombirei Trade Farm Yumkham Tokendrajit has appealed to the public to support Manipur Trade Expo being held at Hapta Kangjeibung with only indigenous stalls on occasion of Ningol Chakkouba.
Addressing the media today at Hapta Kangjeibung, Tokendrajit said many groups have cancelled entertainment and music programmes due to the prevailing situation in the State.
However, Manipur Trade Expo has been organised by excluding outside stalls and putting up only stalls of indigenous people of State, he added.
He said the expo is organised with the aim to encourage budding entrepreneurs of the State and enhance economic development.
There are no outside items in the expo.
He appealed to the public to make the expo which will continue till November 15 a grand success.
Meanwhile, Pemma Sanabam, who has put up a stall at Manipur Trade Expo, said the expo provides a platform to many entrepreneurs.
Stalls of IDPs are also included in the expo.
She said many had to shut shops due to conflict that has lasted for four years and small businesses are slowly restarting.
Organising such an expo and providing a platform in connection with Ningol Chakkouba is very encouraging, she said.
She appealed to support those trying to make a living, saying stall owners are not rich people and none of them can afford to open a full-fledged shop.
