Interacting with the media, outfit's spokesperson Pibarel Angomcha said that UNLF has been working proactively in making the Manipuri society an advanced and developed society.
In this line, the organisation has started taking up actions against persons involved in flesh trade, which would degrade the morality of the society, he said.

Upon investigating the issue, UNLF has come to know that some high profile persons are involved in such immoral activities.
Regarding the two women produced before media, Pibarel informed that one of them is a pimp, who lures innocent women into the trade and she will be awarded befitting punishment.
The other hails from Tousem area and she will be handed over to the CSOs concerned so that they could provide proper counselling and give them a chance to amend her path, he added.

Among them, many had moved to other cities including Guwahati and Delhi.
She further informed that she was initially introduced into the trade by a woman from Nagamapal Singjubung Leirak after she got divorced.
The alleged pimp also confided that she and her commercial sex workers carry out their trade in hotels located in Khuman Lampak and Imphal city areas.
She tendered apology for her wrongdoings and pledged to walk the right path from now on.
The other woman said that she is from Tousem area and she has been in the trade for only about a month.
