UCS student, teacher shine at Science contests

Ukhrul, April 10 2025: L Sylvia Chanu (Shimray), a Class X student at Ukhrul Central School, has secured third place at the State Level Science, Mathematics, and Environment Exhibition for Children 2024-2025, held from April 7 to 11 in Imphal, organised by the Department of Education (S) in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha, Manipur.

Sylvia is the eldest daughter of L Robert Meitei, principal of Ukhrul Central School, and Nimmi Shimray.

Her recent achievements include winning first place at the Ukhrul District Science Exhibition 2025, organised by the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Ukhrul, where she was also selected to represent the district.

In addition to her success in science, Sylvia triumphed in the Ukhrul District Quiz, Debate, and Science Competition, showcasing her diverse talents and commitment to academic excellence.

On the other hand, 'Miss' Rinchuila from Namrei village, who teaches science at Ukhrul Central School, was honoured as the Best Science Teacher Guide of Ukhrul district, recognising her dedication to nurturing young minds.
